Sir. I thank you for being the reat American that you are. I am sorry for your bad luck and will pray for your speedy and full recovery. I personally hope you are able to make the elk hunt you have in mind. I am a elk hunter and know that you will enjoy it tremendously. Whether you kill one or not. Just being in Gods great and scenic outdoors is what it is all about. Thank you for your service to this great nation and to me…God bless.

  • Dev Warren:

    Pat,
I got an email from the Elk Foundation today telling your story. Coming from a family who honors and appreciates the service of those who protect our freedoms, I was touched by your wish to go elk hunting. I know they are arranging a hunt for you, but I would be honored to take you hunting seperately also. I am currently in Montana, but my family ranches in Colorado. Every year I take my close friends hunting in one of the two spots. I would like to invite you to join us in either place whenever you wish. I have one hunting partner who lives in San Antonio and would be happy to fly you up when he comes. Just let us know. May god bless you with a speedy recovery and keep your spirits high. Give me your email and I will send you pics of the previous hunts so you know what to expect. I will also be in Austin over Christmas and would appreciate the opportunity to meet you.

My deepest thanks for your service and courage.

    Radar –

Hey man, I’m praying for you. Guess what, you wouldnt beleive it. I’m stuck here at FT. Knox. You were the man, and always will be the man. Me and Lingeberry and that other merchant Thornton keep having you in our thoughts and prayers. You need to contact me – the hospital won’t let me talk to you. I keep calling and bugging. Merry Christmas, friend.

  • Kathleen Tippy:

Patrick, thank you, your family and all the other personnel for their sacrifice. My dad was career Army in Texas in the 50′s, so Ft. Hood holds special memories for me (it is where I saw Elvis, ha); I detest that it has become a nightmare for so many! As a member of the Rocky Mt. Elk Foundation I heard of your love for elk hunting. May God wrap you in His loving arms and give you a speedy recovery so you can chase elk, or get married, or whatever the Lord has in store for you.

  • Kate Hutley & Family:

We are praying for you. Please hang in there!! We need you, and our country needs you!

  • Patrick,

Thank you so much for being so courageous in protecting this country and putting your life on the line daily. We wish you a speedy recovery and patience in your rehab. You are in our prayers and I know that you will be chasing down a huge bull elk soon.

God bless and you are in our hearts.

  • Patrick, may you feel the loving arms of Jesus wrapped tight around you to carry you through this tough road. He will! I can only imagine what he has in store for you…you keep on fighting the fight and cannot wait to see posts of your Elk Hunting adventures you will be going on when you are ready!! I will end with this…Need not worry, God has a plan for you. Imagine the process that has brought you to where you are today-from a tiny creature inside your Mothers’ womb to the person you are now…and God is not through with you! There is so much more in store to make something bright and beautiful happen with you!! Matthew6:25-34

    Hey buddy,

I called you the day you left the hospital. I Know you’re recovering and are inandated with family and friends, but it couldn’t be any worse than “The Hill,” but you need to call me back bro. I won’t bother you, but good luck, you’ll recover fine. We love you and take care of yourself. My parents say “hello.” You know the number.

  • COLLIN P:

PATRICK, YOUR DEDICATION TO THIS COUNTRY IS SOMETHING ALL CAN ASPIRE TO. YOU MAY HAVE A LONG ROAD AHEAD BUT YOU HAVE FRIENDS AND FAMILY WILLING TO HELP YOU THE WHOLE WAY. GOD BLESS YOU. YOU HAVE GIVEN ME A REASON TO GO BOTH BACK TO CHURCH AND TO CONSIDER JOINING THE MILITARY. GOOD LUCK HUNTING THE ELK.

  • We are praying for you and your family here in Springfield, La.

I am a fellow Veteran (Desert Storm), a Volunteer Fireman (Fire Chief), and member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

I felt the need to send a little note of encouragement. Your dream to elk hunt in the Rockies is a worthwhile dream. Just being in the mountains makes you realize how special a gift God gave us to be living in America.

I want to say “Thank You” for proudly serving our country.

    We are pulling for you.

  • Bill McCaw:

    Patrick,
You have been in my and LaVonne’s thoughts and prayers from the beginning. You are also on our church’s prayer list. As the father of a Green Beret, I know what it takes to excel above and beyond the norm. You have those qualities; body, mind, and spirt; to achieve your goals. Trust in The Lord, for He has a plan for you. Don’t let anybody deter you or tell you different. Also, when you feel up for a “laid-back” deer hunt, let me know and I can put you in my Hunt Co. woods. God Bless You, Bill and LaVonne McCaw

  • Jacklyn Moore:

  • Steven Medendorp:

Patrick – While surfing through the many FSU sports websites, I came across your story and have since watched a recent video of your rehab. God works in mysterious ways, and although we may not know it, He has a reason for everything. Thank you for what you have done and continue to do for this country. You and your fellow soldiers ensure this country’s, and on the smaller scale, my family’s, safety and I am awed by your courage and committment. Thank you.

Keep up the great attitude and take one day at a time. I will keep you in my prayers.

    PS – Go Noles!
